Mazzola's Italian Restaurant: A Taste of Authentic Italian Cuisine in Steamboat Springs

Mazzola’s Italian Restaurant is our go to spot while visiting Steamboat. We travel here multiple times throughout the year and if we don’t hit Mazzola’s at least twice per visit, our vacation isn’t complete. This place offers the perfect combination of excellent food, wonderful service, and a great atmosphere. Everything is delicious from the Mazzola Salad to the Mozzarella Marinara and Chicken Parmesan, to name a few of our favorites. Say hi to Brian, the manager, he will be running around the restaraunt making sure everybody is taken care of. Enjoy

My husband and I made a reservation for NYE dinner and I’m so happy we dined here. The service above all was prompt & polite even with how busy and packed it was. We loved the duck confit special and the butternut squash. Bison lasagna was too wet & mushy & could have been layered better….the taste was there but the texture & presentation was off. The chocolate pudding was the perfect ending to the night. Drinks were good particularly the shrubbery & sangria! Would recommend

Great food! We had the burrata toast as an appetizer, I had the figura calzone, my husband had the pesto rigatoni with a veal meatball and our son had the Americano pizza. All excellent! Ryan was a great waiter as well. Highly recommend trying.

Great visit - worth the visit! Excellent accommodations for food allergies and sensitivities. We had a lovely family dinner for a group of 9. We made a reservation - they aren't required, but are recommended. We also called ahead to ask about managing an egg allergy and they made us feel very confident about their ability to manage it with the kitchen! I also saw they had gluten free pasta and pizzas on the menu. Pros: * Erin, our server, was fantastic. She took great care of us and communicated well re: food allergies, kept our drinks filled and made sure we were well taken care of. * Food was delicious. The calamari, hummus and cheese bread appetizers were delicious. Our entrees were equally great (see pictures). *Atmosphere was casual and fun. Loved that we were seated in a half booth/half chair large table. * One large family size salad was the perfect amount for 7 people. * For the egg allergy, nearly all their pastas are egg-free and they were willing to cook it separately from the rest of the pastas to ensure no cross contamination. ***My son LOVED the Meat Lovers Penne (minus the meatballs bc of egg in those). Note: he is also allergic to shellfish, peanuts and tree nuts and they ensured his meal was made safely. Cons: * They serve Pepsi instead of Coke products, but it was well carbonated and I forgot about it quickly because everything else was great! (ha!) Thanks to the entire team, including manager, chef + kitchen staff and Erin for making our dinner a fun one to remember!

We enjoyed a perfect Italian meal here. Service was great. I loved the chef special that was absolutely delicious. The cheesy bread was a must try. We will be back on our next trip to Steamboat Springs. Everything we tried was made with quality and creative skill. The staff worked hard to make this a great experience for all. Thanks again

We sat at the bar since we didn’t have a reservation on a Monday night. Jen the bartender was great! Had the bread that came with a lovely hummus and olive oil and the mushroom and spinach soup to start. Bison lasagna and chicken parm were both fabulous. Having the leftovers tonight since I saved space for Tiramisu, equally great.

Amazing cozy little spot for Italian food tucked away in the mountains. Bartender/server was wonderful. Did a great job of handling drink orders plus serving Everton at the bar and around the bar area! She even spoke a little bit of Spanish to try and accommodate to international guests, I wanna say her name was Jennifer or Jessica. Hopefully she’s still there bc she gave the place so much personality I only got one photo bc the food smelled so good I couldn’t resist but digging in It was just 2 of us so they were able to sit us near the bar. Would definitely recommend calling ahead to reserve a spot in the back tho for an extra intimate ambiance

Early dinner at Mazolla’s after a day on the slopes. We were warmly greeted and seated right away. Unfortunately we were seated right in the thorough way, and as my chair was backed up the aisle I got bumped by people and staff walking by. There were plenty of open tables so we should have just asked to be moved further into the back room so I can’t complain. We ordered mozzarella sticks to share for an appetizer which were hot, crunchy on the outside and pretty good. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo which was creamy, and rich and the perfect serving size! We ordered one of the huge, famous meatballs to share but felt it was a little dense. Atmosphere was super cozy, like an old fashioned 1920’s Italian restaurant. You had to walk downstairs so restaurant is u. The basement. It was dark, with red walls, dark furniture and table side candles. Service was quick, very friendly and amazing with all hands on deck and everyone helping. I would come back again to try other things on the menu that looked interesting, as well as their pizza.
